Whole Food Plant-Based

Whole Food Plant-Based vs. Vegan?

Both mean no animal products, but it's actually easy to be a junk food vegan. Oreos for example are vegan. Something that is WFPB uses whole plants as ingredients with little to no added sugar, salt or oil. Sounds boring but the best food I've ever had has been WFPB. Our taste buds have been desensitized by meat, dairy and processed foods with all their salt and fat but once they're given a chance to reset it's a whole new world.  I dream about watermelon and blackberries the way I used to do about cookies and brownies. Sure, it take a few weeks to get used to shopping, cooking, and dinning out this way but it's so worth it. We knew it was the right thing to do for the planet, our health, and the animals but we thought it would be a life of restriction. The opposite has been true. We eat a much wider variety of foods than we ever did before. Below is our average Costco run.
